The ‘Portraits de botanique’ (Botany Portraits) is a small documentary series whose subjects are chosen by the authors based on their interests. They hope to show that popular science is a useful, even necessary, discipline for establishing contact between scientists and the public. This series comprises 59 issues.

The Department of Geology is involved in the open access publication of the ‘Mémoire de géologie, Lausanne’ (Lausanne Geology Memoirs).

Books by external authors or collaborators are published regularly. These are often monographs related to exhibitions or specialised publications in specific fields.
