Celebrating collections

Joint exhibition of the Naturéum and the Cantonal Archeology and History Museum (MCAH) at the Palais de Rumine and the Cantonal Botanical Garden of Lausanne.

Specimens 24 is the first exhibition to be run by the Naturéum, in partnership with the Cantonal Archeology and History Museum and in collaboration with Plateforme 10's museums of art.

It showcases the scientific collections and questions the place and role of these museums in the face of the challenges facing our society, through their three fundamental missions: to remember, to study and to pass on.

A multi-site exhibition

At the Palais de Rumine, you'll discover the history of science, the biodiversity of nature and the influence of human beings on the environment.The Botanical Garden invites you in the topic of peat bogs.

A dialogue between art and science
Specimens 24 also gives pride of place to emotions, highlighting six artists from the canton of Vaud. Their works resonate with the science and history collections, and are displayed at various sites, including the alpine botanical garden in Pont
de Nant and the Roman Site and Museum in Avenches.

Opening hours

The museums are open Tuesday to Sunday, including public holidays, from 10am to 5pm.

Closed on Mondays.

The building is closed on the following days:
In 2025: 01.01, 21.04, 09.06, 22.09, 25.12.
In 2026: 01.01, 06.04, 25.06, 21.09, 25.12.

Opening hours

Garden, greenhouses and botanical conservatory open daily :
10 am to 6:30 pm, April 1 to October 31
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., November 1 to March 31
Greenhouse closed on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 1 pm.

Annual closure from December 15, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
