Antoine Pictet

Antoine Pictet, curator of palaeontology, department of geology

A nature lover at heart, he began his career as a paleontologist in early childhood, roaming mountain trails in search of natural curiosities. Once he outgrew his phase of collecting natural specimens, he turned his attention to their scientific study, while sharing his passion through societies of knowledgeable amateurs and professionals. Between 2006 and 2017, he studied sedimentary geology and paleontology at the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne, eventually devoting himself to paleontology and conservation at the Naturéum.

His studies taught him to look beyond the object itself, with a particular interest in the Jura and Swiss Alps regions; he is fascinated by the richness of the landscapes, the varied geology, and the diverse paleontology of this small country. Beyond the region, he cultivates a culinary and scientific interest in cephalopods.

Cantonal Government Websites and PHP Security Vulnerabilities

Like many organizations around the world, the cantonal government uses PHP, a widely used programming language, on some of its websites and in some of its applications. In light of the recently disclosed and widely publicized security vulnerabilities, preventive measures have been implemented to strengthen the security of the affected systems.

The natureum.ch website has been secured and can be accessed. However, the palaisderumine.ch, espace-arlaud.vd.ch and mcah.ch websites are currently still offline. You can contact the teams by email: info.rumine@vd.ch for the Palais de Rumine and Espace Arlaud administration and mcah@vd.ch for the Cantonal Museum of Archaeology and History, or visit the website lausanne-musees.ch
